Johnstown Inclined Plane
previous | back to list | next

On July 10, 1902, 112 coal miners lost their lives near Johnstown's Inclined Plane, in Cambria County. Since then, a ghost of a coal miner has been seen on the incline plane hiking trail from the coal mine that collapsed and killed the people inside. Other specters seen here include two miners holding their lunch buckets and standing at the base of the incline. This site is open daily, with no charge for the ghost site.
