Betsy Ross, America's most famous seamstress, was also a famous
Pennsylvanian. An upholsterer by trade, Ross was commissioned by
the Continental Congress and General George Washington to sew the
nation's first flag. Guests can visit the Betsy Ross House, where
Ross is interred in Philadelphia and learn the history of the American
flag and about the life of a woman who created one of America's
most revered symbols of freedom.
